Beneath Mount Balloon, I checked my hands again.

They were bound in plastic bandages that simply wouldn't stay on. As a young mountain guide, experience had taught me not to trust single use plastic; I'd been left hurt and cold by its lackluster performance.

 

The only material I trusted in the mountains was merino wool. All of my performance clothing was merino, so why not my bandage material?
